Program Director

Reports To: Executive Director (or Executive Committee, as determined) 
Classification: Part-Time, Contract (Approx. 10 hours per week) 
Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred) 
Compensation: $40–$50 per hour, commensurate with experience 

Why This Role Matters 

Programs are how the Cultivating Change Foundation shows up for its community. As Program Director, you’ll help design and deliver experiences that connect, support, and develop LGBTQ+ professionals and allies across the food and agriculture sectors. From our national Summit to year-round events and virtual programming, this role ensures our work is thoughtful, inclusive and built for impact to achieve the Foundation’s mission of valuing and advancing LGBTQ+ people in food and agriculture. 

What You Will Do 

  • Lead programming strategy and execution across the Foundation 

  • Plan and deliver the annual Cultivating Change Summit 

  • Manage year-round programming (regional events, webinars, affinity groups) 

  • Oversee event logistics, vendors, and onsite execution 

  • Partner with staff, volunteers, and board leaders 

  • Gather feedback and continuously improve programs 

What We Are Looking For 

  • 2–4 years of experience in program management, events, nonprofit work, or related fields 

  • Strong project management and organizational skills 

  • Experience planning events or professional development programs 

  • Comfort working independently in a remote, part-time role 

  • Commitment to inclusion, belonging, and community-centered work 

Bonus Points For 

  • Experience in food, agriculture, or related industries 

  • Nonprofit or association experience 

  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ or underrepresented communities 

  • Experience in volunteer management
